Are you ready to accept an exciting new challenge?
An opportunity exists for a support worker to join Leighton Linslade Homeless Service, a charity based in Leighton Buzzard, dedicated to alleviating the problems associated with homelessness for people who seek our support.
The role will be challenging but rewarding.
Black Horse House Hostel provides essential services to people who have become homeless. The role will be varied, our focus is to build meaningful relationships with the aim to empower people. At the heart of all our services is our commitment to enable individuals to build on their strengths, pursue their hopes and change their lives.
The role will include working with our client group who we value as guests at Black Horse House. Interpersonal skills will be necessary to work with a wide range of people. The ability to effectively and professionally face difficult and challenging behaviour will be essential.
We are a small team and we share the daily tasks involved in running the hostel; being able to work positively and supportively alongside colleagues and volunteers, at times, working unsupervised, will be required.
Being ‘homeless’ encompasses many experiences, it is complex. All who work and volunteer in Black Horse House Hostel, believe in a person-centred, strengths-based approach of support.
Due to the current COVID-19 requirements for social distancing, we will discuss with short-listed applicants the most appropriate way an interview will be conducted. It is anticipated that the initial interview will be held online in mid-December.
We kindly request no contact from agencies or media sales.
